Fredericksburg for the 50th
We had an enjoyable time celebrating Tom and Marcielle's 50th Anniversary in Fredericksburg, TX, despite illness that befell Tom, Tammy, and myself. We arrived to meet up with Tim's family at dark on the 27th with Tammy still not up to par, while Tom and Marcielle picked up Mike and family in Austin at the airport. Tom contracted the virus last and was still suffering, but at this point we all have recovered and no one else has reported illness.
We stayed at the Keidel Inn and Gasthaus on Main Street, using all the rooms and guest house separate from the main building. It was very nicely decorated and very comfortable. We were served breakfast, but allowed to cook our evening meals on two evening. The first night many of us ate at a local German restaurant.
We also took a day to climb the nearby Enchanted Rock, the second largest outcropping of Granite in the USA with only Stone Mountain, GA, being larger. We explored caves and climbed many rock formations.
