Fredericksburg for the 50th

We had an enjoyable time celebrating Tom and Marcielle's 50th Anniversary in Fredericksburg, TX, despite illness that befell Tom, Tammy, and myself. We arrived to meet up with Tim's family at dark on the 27th with Tammy still not up to par, while Tom and Marcielle picked up Mike and family in Austin at the airport. Tom contracted the virus last and was still suffering, but at this point we all have recovered and no one else has reported illness.

We stayed at the Keidel Inn and Gasthaus on Main Street, using all the rooms and guest house separate from the main building. It was very nicely decorated and very comfortable. We were served breakfast, but allowed to cook our evening meals on two evening. The first night many of us ate at a local German restaurant.

We also took a day to climb the nearby Enchanted Rock, the second largest outcropping of Granite in the USA with only Stone Mountain, GA, being larger. We explored caves and climbed many rock formations.

Christmas 2007

Christmas this year was a mixed bag. Jordan was sick several days prior to Christmas with a stomach virus (or intestinal virus, I guess) and Tammy and I both had colds we were trying to get under control. We all felt well enough to have a nice Christmas morning opening gifts and then drove to Tammy's parents for dinner. After dinner is when things started to go down hill for me as I started to run fever and by the time we got back home had Jordan's illness fully in control. Today I have some lingering effects and no appetite but I feel much better. Tonight Tammy was struck with it. All this sickness right before our planned gathering in Fredericksburg, TX to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Tom and Marcielle, joined by Tim and Mike's families for three days. We're hoping to be well enough to get there on time and at least take part in whatever we can of this event.
