Sighs of Life
Photos and descriptions of events in our family life. About Terry: photography has been a hobby since childhood. Writing newsletters for businesses and local church led to the publication of a book in 2010. Self-employment and hobbies provided challenges and growth. The qualities of life that make it worth living provide a positive outlook that is the emphasis that this blog and other written contributions try to convey to any reader. Finally Some Progress
New A/C Units for up and downstairs have been installed with new ductwork. Insulation has been installed and sheetrock is now going in. Stress has been high and I nearly had to go to the hospital on the 18th as an irregular heartbeat caused by a cold and cold medication vs. heart medicine incident produced very similar circumstances that caused my attack during Ike. Quickly taking the missed heart medication and aspirin averted that unnecessary hospital visit and surely many subsequent tests and a hospital stay. Still, I can't help but wonder how I've managed to add 17 pounds in two month even as shoulder problems and the holidays kept me from normal exercise. So back to the excercise bike and diet now that my cold has concluded.

Beginning the Repair
Mitigation of the house has completed and repair has now commenced. Flooring upstairs is being patched to replace the wet swelled wood that had to be removed. Soon new dry wall (sheetrock) will be installed to the ceilings and walls, floated and taped ready for paint. It is like building a new house, but with more choices than at our beginning in 1993. The insurance funds are finally partially in the bank, and being distributed to our remodeler for possible completion of the work in April by subcontractors. Once the house is ready for occupancy we still have weeks of preparation while we transfer our contents from our rent house and purchase new furniture, appliances, and things we still need. While the schedule of making choices and bringing everything together is daunting and time consuming, we look forward to a new beginning when everything is finished and we once again have a home. See pictures of our home as it is now
