San Marcos

Tammy and I finally got to visit Adam and Kendyl in San Marcos on Sunday the 26th of July, 2015. We had been trying to get there his entire Spring Semester since he started at Texas State.  Everyone in school was moving out of The Grove apartments by the end of July's lease, and packing was in process to relocate to The Edge apartment located closer to school and which would not be ready until the 19th of August unfortunately.  Adam also would continue summer school classes he elected to take at Texas State University through the seventh of August.  So some juggling of residences and possessions would be necessary to make it all work out and that involved taking things back to Pearland for a few weeks.  But we toured the university campus, which is very large, on the hottest day of the year so far, and then met up with Rebecca and Matt, Kendyl's parents,  back at the apartment around 3pm.  We drove to and viewed the new apartment complex, which is very nice, and went to lunch together at the Grinn Restaurant nearby.  After helping pack, and loading part of Adam's contents into our car, we headed back to Pearland getting home twelve hours later.  Jordan had come to take care of Loki while we travelled.  It was a good quick trip to San Marcos and we enjoyed the time there very much. Pictures. VIDEO  I believe this is the first time we have been back since 1998.

Brenham Family Gathering 2015

Tammy and I had a good visit with family in Brenham today.  Tammy took off and we joined some of our family as Claudette was in town for a medical visit from Searcy, and Karen drove down from Dallas.

We met up at Don and Kay's ranch in Brenham where Darlene and Jeff also live on adjoining property.  Don has 27 acres of land with a stocked pond.  Beautiful country as the pictures testify. It is nice to have a open invitation to visit, but the family gatherings are what make it special.  VIDEO

As usual we were treated to fine dining and fancy desserts.  It was warm but not too hot to gather on the porch after our meal together.  And as usual there were plenty of photo opportunities with cousins and brothers and sister and all of us enjoying the day.
