2021-12-25 Christmas

After enjoying visits with family in November we found December to be much different. This was partly due to four of the family at gatherings becoming ill from Covid-19 and recovering without any problems, and missing Tom's presence for Christmas this year. Adam remained in Oregon after his car wreck dealing with buying a new car and having to work, however we video chatted Christmas eve after opening gifts. Jordan, Tammy and myself joined Marcielle on Christmas day as Kimberly stopped by later, and we helped get ready for Marcielle's move and subsequent sale of their home in Houston. The weather has been and continues to be warm around 80°, but Adam reported a heavy snowfall in Eugene. All in all, despite the problems, everyone is doing pretty good.  Pictures and Video.

2021-11-25 Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was canceled. After gatherings for the memorial service and trip to Brenham the following day we had the rest of the week during which Tim and Angela developed Covid symptoms, and by turkey day morning a test came back positive. Consequently the planned gathering at our house was determined to be far too risky for those not infected, and Tim, Angela, and Grant returned home to north Texas to isolate and recuperate. At this writing they have respiratory flu-like symptoms as recovery continues.

As news of sickness loomed prior to the cancellation, Tammy, Jordan and I went to a Mexican restaurant on turkey eve to introduce Jordan to our new favorite Tex-Mex food spot since our prior one was closed due to the pandemic slow down last year. Then on Thanksgiving morning we found that others were not coming for our planned meal leaving us a large partially filled table for the three of us to enjoy together. Admittedly the bird was tougher than usual, but good. And we are thankful no one has gotten ill. Tammy did take a covid test and was negative today, a week later.  Pictures.
