CV-19 Update
From what I understand we are now at the height of the spread of the COVID-19 virus as unsuspecting people carry it around. One thing I had not considered is how ones shoes pick up and carry the virus into your car and home, and then you touch them when you take them off. This is probably worse than grocery bags and food containers and we don't take the same care with shoes.
As I've said before it seems likely we'll be dealing with the virus until a vaccine becomes available, and even then there may be mutations to deal with. China is still dealing with hot spots and dissent by people upset at the restrictions imposed there, too. This won't be over any time soon.
It has been interesting living at home, retired for the most part, but having my wife working from home in the dining room. I can't get into all the 'fun' we have recently had with events other than to say things seem to happen to my wife more often lately. Yesterday as she open the back door screen a bird flew in and that took a while before it finally flew out as it hid and reappeared later while she was gone for a walk. The fun never stops here. We even went to pick up groceries last week, a week early! Sorry, it is next Tuesday for your order! No problem.
Speaking of grocery pick up, Walmart is pretty good at timely grocery pick up scheduling. They use the Walmart Grocery app and your data service to know you arrive. Unfortunately my data stopped working unexpectedly and it took way longer than the first time to pick up my last order. And our local HEB had a worker test positive and the store had to do a thorough disinfection before resuming. Our local Kroger doesn't seem to be so busy, but get a slot for grocery pick up can be unpredictable. I think some of the problem is with workers testing positive in some stores or maybe quitting. They are surely overworked.
Anyway, take care and use caution. The best thing we having going for us is common sense.
