August Birthdays & Labor Day

Our Labor Day weekend family gatherings included Tom and Marcielle, Tim and Angela with Kara and Grant, Sydney (now Sam), and Tammy, Jordan, and myself, plus Kimberly joined us at our house Sunday for grilled burgers and dogs.  We first met for lunch on Saturday afternoon at the Urban Kitchen restaurant on Kirby at Memorial dr in Houston.  Then over a short distance to visit at Tom and Marcielle's home. On Sunday afternoon everyone except Grant and Sam arrived at our home on a rainy day to eat and give Marcielle birthday gifts.  While I was grilling hamburgers and wieners on the grille, Tom slipped and fell while getting getting up from a chair near the fireplace and hurt his right shoulder.  Then I slipped and fell out on the patio and crushed a plastic lawn chair, no injury though other than to the chair.  We managed to sit down, as pictured, and eat followed by dessert cakes that included two carrot cakes (one gluten free) and a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream (Blue Bell).   Marcielle opened gifts for her 80th birthday as we sat down to relax, Kara investigated the PS4 VR some, and we had a good visit and shared some laughs as Kara cast some video to the TV that was funny.  Jordan played and entertained us on the piano.  The rain cleared and we enjoyed our second gathering of families since we gathered in Wimberley, TX. for their 60 Wedding Anniversary the first of January.
